Columbus in April means many things for us—spring, warmer temperature, rain and sometimes experiencing more than one season within an hour. So yeah, our thoughts mainly revolve around the weather. But our pets are thinking something else, and that is that their precious humans are going to spend less time hibernating and more time outside.
There are plenty of things to do with your pets in Central Ohio, especially this month! Here are 2 things you can do with your furry friends:
When: Sun., April 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Acme Canine Resource Center
Acme Canine will be hosting their 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! The hunting is up to the dogs, where they will find some canine-friendly treats. If your pup is the first to find the “Golden Egg,” you will win an Easter basket valued at over $100 in prizes. There will be special giveaways for the first 10 registrants. A select number of eggs will also include tickets, which will be redeemable for additional prizes. Although this event is specifically for dogs, families are invited to spend the afternoon together! All proceeds and donations will go towards training shelter dogs.
When: Fri., April 17 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sat., April 18 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sun., April 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Columbus Expo Center
Columbus is hosting this three-day event at the Expo Center. This will be the 21st exhibition of “The Greatest Pet Show on Earth!” It is the largest pet expo in the U.S. Dogs, cats, birds, horses, fish, reptiles, llamas, hamsters, rabbits and more are all going to be represented at the expo. The event will offer agility training, grooming, demonstrations and, of course, competitions. With more than 40 pet rescue groups on hand, there will also be opportunities to adopt a pet. And most importantly, you’re welcome to bring your own pets!
Now go spend some quality time with your pets because you never know what cute thing they’ll do next… like eating a dandelion.
